The Mountain-Top Chaplain
Each year, RCI holds a national RCI Week built around a theme that shapes training, preaching, and outreach. The 2024 theme, "The Mountain-Top Chaplain," centred on total surrender — someone who has decided to follow and serve Jesus regardless of circumstances and consequences.
The Call to Commitment

A Mountain-Top Chaplain is a Christian who combines the commitment of a true Christian with the discipline and sterling virtues of a paramilitary officer — a wholehearted commitment to the service of the Lord. Four essential questions every chaplain should address:
Who is this God who has called us to His service?
It is important to know the God who is calling us — challenging us to live in submission to His divine authority.
Who am I?
If you are in a relationship with God, He demands commitment from you. Until you identify yourself with the person of Jesus Christ, your commitment to His service will not be total. You are somebody, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, accepted and beloved in Him.
To whom do I belong?
You belong to God — a possession of the Almighty God. Your gifts and all that you have belong to Him. He is the final authority over your life; your answer to the call of God must be yes and only yes.
Why am I here?
Why has God invested so much into my life? We are here to glorify God, reflect the life of Jesus, and make every aspect of our lives honour and glorify God. All that we have and all that we are is from God, and for His purpose.
At the battalion level
- Courtesy visits to RCCG Provincial leadership in the battalion's region
- A Faith Clinic — a dedicated prayer session for the health of the organization itself
- Correctional facility outreach — combining material support with evangelism
- A Security Summit — practical training for pastors, ministers, and church workers on personal and church safety, emergency management, and fire safety
- A Thanksgiving service, with officers turning out in full ceremonial uniform
610 Battalion — March 2024

- Courtesy and advocacy visits to PICPs in RCCG Region 28 (Nasarawa 1–6)
- Faith Clinic and prayer for Redemption Chaplaincy International
- Visit to Keffi Correctional Center — food items shared, evangelism conducted, 72 souls won to Christ
- Security Summit for Region 28 pastors and ministers — covering repositioning church and personal security, emergency management, and fire safety tips
- Thanksgiving in full ceremonial uniform at Battalion Base (Region 28 HQ)
Goodwill Message
Battalion Commander, 610 Battalion — 3 Division, 37 Brigade
On behalf of the Chaplain officers in the 3 Division, 37 Brigade, 610 Battalion, we congratulate our Admiral Marshal, the RCI Council, and the organizing team for hosting the National RCI Week with the theme "The Mountain-Top Chaplain."
Our esteemed father in the Lord has taught that God is repositioning us to the mountain top so that we can see the invisible (2 Kings 6:15–17). Every Chaplain officer must see what is revealed only by God, to navigate current tides and perform duty as a total Priest and soldier of Christ, fit for the Kingdom of Heaven.
From the mountain top, we will continue to conquer more territories for the Lord Jesus Christ through prayers and intensive evangelism, as well as caring for the needs of the less privileged. During our second Chaplaincy Week, we were at Keffi Correctional Center to meet spiritual and physical needs of inmates. We also prepared God's people and ministers against current insecurity. It is our prayer that God will give us grace to keep growing strong, implementing our mandates as mountain-top chaplain officers.
