SACRED — Our Core Values

RCI chaplains are formed around six values, captured in the acronym SACRED:

• S — Spiritual

  Engage others to seek Jesus as King over their life.

• A — Accountable

  Encourage individuals to make sound moral and ethical decisions.

• C — Compassionate

  Love in word and deed.

• R — Religious Leader

  Influence others to live in faith in Christ.

• E — Excellence

  Motivate individuals to do their best in all aspects of life.

• D — Discipline

  Committed to obeying rules and regulations.

These aren't abstract ideals. They're the standard every chaplain is trained and evaluated against — in the field, at the altar, and in the community.
