The RCI Anthem

The RCI Anthem

Line-by-line theology — from RCI training command, published in The Drill Magazine, Vol. 2.

The RCI Anthem is the representation of chaplaincy theology, spirituality, philosophy, and mentality. It captures what RCI stands for, guides operational philosophy, and connects officers to worship in spirit and truth.

Stanza 1

We are the Soldiers of the Lord.We are the Soldiers of the Cross.Committed to caring and sharing. We are the Soldiers of the Lord.

We are the Soldiers of the Lord.

RCI's Theology of Chaplaincy

A statement of fact announcing our relationship with God the Father. RCI chaplains are the workforce of God — not soldiers of any earthly lord, and not soldiers of the devil. As soldiers of the Lord, we submit to God and resist the devil.

We are the Soldiers of the Cross.

RCI's Christology of Chaplaincy

A statement of fact announcing our relationship with God the Son. We identify with the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and believe in the redemptive power of the blood of Jesus on the Cross. We are Soldiers of the Lord Jesus — the Supreme Commandant of RCI.

Committed to caring and sharing.

RCI's Care Mandate

RCI is committed to providing spiritual, religious, pastoral, emotional, and ethical care — and extends care to healthcare, educational, social, and environmental needs. We share the Word of God, time, finances, and expertise. The caring and sharing attitude of St. Martin of Tours sparked chaplaincy worldwide.

We are the Soldiers of the Lord.

Confirmation of Identity

A confirmation that from beginning to end, RCI has an unending relationship with God the Father. Our identity is clear: we belong to the Lord God.

Stanza 2

Empowered by the Lord Jesus,To the pulling down of strongholds,And Heaven is our aim,Till the world is reached for the Lord.

Empowered by the Lord Jesus,

RCI's Pneumatology

RCI's relationship with the Holy Spirit — the Another Comforter — through our encounter with Jesus Christ. Jesus empowers, endows, anoints, teaches, guides, and comforts us as Soldiers of the Lord and of the Cross.

To the pulling down of strongholds,

Spiritual Warfare Mandate

Empowered chaplains pull down strongholds built by the devil — through spiritual oversight, spiritual cover, spiritual mapping, spiritual diplomacy, spiritual care intervention, and spiritual warfare against demonic altars and every knowledge that exalts itself against God.

And Heaven is our aim,

RCI's Eschatology

Heaven at last — reflecting RCCG Goal 1 (make heaven) and Goal 2 (take as many as possible with us). Whether in uniform, on parade, or at altar security, our aim is to make heaven. RCI is a "rapture vehicle" conveying chaplains and the souls they have won.

Till the world is reached for the Lord.

The Great Commission Standard

We will not give up until the world is reached for the Lord. We keep caring, sharing, and pulling down strongholds — finishing strong with many souls to present in exchange for our crowns, taking the Gospel to the uttermost part of the world.
